1. Creative people have a great deal of physical energy, but they’re also often quiet and at rest.

I believe that most of creative people have a great deal of physical energy, which is why most of creative people are look happy and they are smart while they talk. Their great deal of energy is produced indirectly by their brain. They always try and find a way to think creatively in facing everything in their life, so beyond their conscious condition, their mind indirectly producing a great energy for their body. When is it producing that energy? While they quiet for a rest, they use their brain to think, to create and solve a problem differently for other, then their brain create a great spirit and finally great deal of energy has been created indirectly. So that is why creative people have a great deal of energy but they are often quiet and at rest.

2. Creative people tend to be smart yet naive at the same time.

I agree with his second statement. Great creative people are also balanced with a great intelligence, which make they feel that they are the best person among their society. So they do not want to be corrected by any person. This makes them naïve too. This is one of creative people weaknesses.

3. Creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.

I think creative people always find a way to make impossible to possible thing. That is the reason to distinguish creative people with ordinary people. Usually on work, they combine playfulness and discipline. They like working in playfulness, but it does not mean their work is not done. They are discipline and responsible to their work. They are combining their left and right brain to their work. That is why they can combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.

4. Creative people alternate between imagination and fantasy, and a rooted sense of reality.

I agree with his statement. Creative people have great imagination and fantasy, which sometimes ordinary people do not have. They have out of the box thought, but their imagination and fantasy still based on a rooted sense. They have great imagination during their quiet and rest, but they think in sense of reality during talking to other people or ordinary people. So they know when they use their imagination and fantasy, and their sense of reality.

5. Creative people trend to be both extroverted and introverted.

Creative people become introverted when they are thinking of some brilliant idea, when they need to create that idea they prefer to be alone. When the idea is created, and they feel ready to share it with other people, they become extroverted person to share, because they are happy when their ideas are accepted by people.

6. Creative people are humble and proud at the same time.

I think this is commonly felt by most of people when they achieve something and being admitted by people around. Creative people always create something different with other, which always impress our attention. They would pride if people granted and admit their creation, but if we say to them that their creation is extraordinary, they would be very humble, but deep inside of them they feel proud at the same time.

7. Creative people, to an extent, escape rigid gender role stereotyping.

They tend to find great idea from anywhere, anything, and anyone. So they don’t mind about gender, role, or stereotyping, because their great idea may come from anyone. As long as it does not disturb their process of creating idea.

8. Creative people are both rebellious and conservative.

Conservative is the basic of human nature, everybody has that. But creative people sometimes need rebellion to create their creativity. It occurs when there is limitation of their process of creativity. They may become conservative before something force them to break the rule, but when they find the limit to rebel, they will become rebellious.

9. Most creative people are very passionate about their work, yet they can be extremely objective about it as well.

I agree with this statement. They love what they work, once they love the work, they will be very passionate about it. But yet they can be very objective when they find it does not really interest their passionate. Because I think lots of creative people work based on their intention or their emotion. Creativity cannot be created in bad feeling or emotion.

10. Creative people’s openness and sensitivity often exposes them to suffering and pain, yet also to a great deal of enjoyment.

Most of creative people enjoy the process rather than the result, because in the process of their creation, they find so many interesting that makes them feel challenged. They usually create a great deal of enjoyment during the process, but once they fall or their idea is rejected, they would feel in pain and suffer about that.

IDEO redefined good design by creating experiences, not just products

What customers think and feel about a company and/or its products is a key aspect of business success. It is the job of marketers to understand the needs of their consumer. In doing so they can develop goods or services which meet their needs more precisely than their competitors.

Customers do not usually make purchases without thinking carefully about their requirements. Wherever there is choice, decisions are involved, and these may be influenced by constantly changing motives. The organizations that can understand why customers make decisions such as who buys, what they buy and how they buy will, by catering more closely for customers needs, become potentially more successful.

Most markets are made up of groups of customers with different sets of expectations about the products and services that they want to buy. Marketing oriented businesses will therefore need to carry out research into customer requirements to make sure that they provide those products and services which best meet customer expectations in the relevant market segment.

Customers are the most important people for any organization. They are the resource upon which the success of the business depends.

Organizations are dependent upon their customers. If they do not develop customer loyalty and satisfaction, they could lose their customers. Without customers the organization would not exist. The purpose of the organization is to fulfill the needs of the customers.

According to the many business guru’s and to many more successful companies, the key to success lies not only in having a good product, but also in being able to provide the customer with the level of service they desire.

First step IDEO do to understand the consumer experience by doing observation. Some of IDEO’s techniques are:

  • Shadowing, observing people using the products, such as shopping, going to hospitals, using cell phones.
  • Consumer journey, keeping track of all the interactions a consumer has with a product, service or space
  • Extreme user interviews, talking directly to people, about product or service and also their experience using it
  • Storytelling, prompting people to tell stories about their personal experiences

Step 2 is brainstorming. They are analyzing data gathered by observing people. These are the rules :

  • Defer judgement, they do not dismiss any ideas
  • Build on the ideas of others
  • Encourage wild ideas, the most out of the box notions
  • go for quantity, aims for many new ideas as possible
  • Be visual
  • Stay focused on the topic, on target
  • One conversation at one time

Step 3: Rapid Prototyping

Mocking up working models helps everyone visualize possible solutions and speeds up decision making and innovation. These are the guideline:

  • Mock up everything
  • Use videography (short movies)
  • Go fast (quickly and cheaply)
  • No grills
  • Create scenarios
  • Bodystorm

Step 4 for is Refining. At this stage, IDEO narrows choices to a few possibilities. Here’s how it’s done:

  • Brainstorm
  • Focus prototyping
  • Engage the client (actively in the process of narrowing the choices)
  • Be disciplined
  • Focus
  • Get agreement from all stakeholder

The last step is implementation. Bring IDEO’s strong engineering, design, and social-science capabilities to bear when actually creating a product or service

Apple Inc. Sebuah nama perusahaan yang lekat dengan produk-produk inovatif seperti Macintosh, iPod dan iPhone. Apa yang menjadi kunci keberhasilan Apple?

Apple adalah perusahaan yang sanggaattt unik menurut saya. Di saat perusahaan teknologi lainnya memfokuskan diri pada satu atau dua sektor, Apple melakukan semuanya sekaligus. Apple membuat perangkat kerasnya sendiri (iBooks dan iMacs), juga membuat sendiri sistem operasi dan aplikasinya (Mac OS, iTunes, iMovie, Safari Web Browser, dll). It’s gorgeous. Inside and out!! Karena software pada setiap Mac yang dibuat oleh perusahaan yang sama yang membuat Mac itu sendiri, customer mendapatkan yang benar-benar terintegrasi sebagai komputer yang aman, stabil, dan kuat karena elegan dan mudah digunakan.

Mungkin, jika perusahaan teknologi seperti Microsoft, Dell, dan Sony digabung menjadi satu perusahaan maka akan menghasilkan perusahaan yang berteknologi luas seperti Apple.

Mac aman, no virus, no spyware
Ya. Mac dibangun di atas fondasi yang kokoh UNIX dan dirancang dengan keamanan dalam pikiran, membuat virus dan spyware jauh lebih sedikit dari masalah. Innovasi ini adalah salah satu yang sangat penting menurut saya. Sebagai pengguna windows, masalah virus adalah masalah nomer 1 yang sangat sangat merepotkan saya. Mungkin bisa dibilang hingga hari ini pun saya sudah menyerah untuk “fight” dengan virus dan membiarkan laptop saya seada adanya..

Kunjungi setiap Apple Retail Store, dan kita akan mendapatkan nasihat ahli (tanpa tekanan penjualan) yang Mac yang tepat. Kita bahkan dapat membuat janji online untuk Belanja Pribadi pengalaman. Ini adalah marketing yang saaaangat baik menurut saya.  Apple Retail Store menjadikannya sebagai tempat terbaik untuk belajar tentang, berbelanja, dan mendapatkan hasil maksimal dari Mac, iPod, iPhone, dan Apple TV.

Maka tidaklah salah bila saya mengatakan bahwa Apple Inc. adalah perusahaan terbaik dan kreatif. Berdasarkan beberapa survey pun Apple ditunjuk sebagai perusahaan paling inovatif di dunia. Mereka menilai Apple telah memberikan pengalaman yang hebat kepada pelanggannya yang disertai dengan desain yang luar biasa.

Most creative people, for me, for today,: Nina Nikicio

Nikicio is a clothing line owned and designed by Nina Nikicio, a young Indonesian fashion designer. Born in 1985, Nina earned her Diploma of Fashion Design at Lasalle College of Fine Arts in Singapore in 2005. In 2009 she earned another Diploma of Fashion Business and received an award as Best Student at Lasalle International College.

Established in 2006, Nikicio believes in conceiving something that will outlast trends, and is certain that the term “cohesive” or “sensible” should not be practiced rigidly in fashion. This is most apparent in every collection of Nikicio, where classic cuts with high end constructions are happily substantial.

Nikicio’s anti-fashion approach, ignores the dictates of seasons, looks beyond trends and shuns the idea that fashion has to be “cohesive” or “sensible” and the unconventional thinking has paid off. These are greatttt!!! So, no seasons, no trends..

Sticking to this more authentic concept, Nikicio is personally attached to each garment and chooses smart fabrics that can be worn a variety of ways. “I want the collection to be personal,” she says, “a part of a person’s everyday life but we all know that people hide sometimes, and I try to bring them a comfortable place to conceal, take the load off and dress up.”

Nikicio want to become the first Indonesian high-street retail brand, this is their vision.  They always create clothes that last forever (and to add value of investment in each kind of products). They want customers wearing their product have prestige and pride. Wow!!

In the following year, Nikico published three collections for Nikicio: mixté Vol.01, Vol.02, and Vol.03, plus two side-projects: Heartbeat and Millimeter.

Year 2009 is even busier for Nikicio. They published one main collection for Nikicio: mixte Vol.04; which is became a part of Audi Fashion Festival in Singapore, alongside with other notable designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Marc Jacobs, and Christian Lacroix, one project named project:03, three secondary lines (Nikicio:Femme, Nikicio: Homme, and NN02), and another label: Oneandahalf.

morning world!!

Kreativitas adalah proses timbulnya ide yang baru, sedangkan inovasi adalah pengimplementasian ide itu sehingga dapat merubah apa yang sudah ada.

Saya yakin bahwa apapun profesinya, kreatif itu sangat penting. Hidup ini dinamis, selalu berubah. Mungkin apa yang miliki hari ini berguna, bisa saja besok menjadi tidak.

Sementara, perubahan terjadi pada segala aspek kehidupan. Oleh karena itu kita semua dituntut untuk tetap mampu menghasilkan ide-ide baru agar kita bisa mengikuti perubahan.

Bisnis adalah aktivitas kreativitas. “Inovasi atau mati”.  Sehingga, kreativitas sangat penting untuk persaingan.

Orang kreatif biasanya suka mencoba-coba. Mix and match katanya. Saya memiliki ketertarikan dalam bidang fashion. Mix and match pakaian adalah hal yang biasa lakukan setiap hari. Mungkin ini adalah salah satu kreativitas yang saya miliki. Ketika saya bingung harus memakai baju apa, saya biasa memadu padankan satu baju dengan yang lainnya ataupun ditambah dengan aksesoris. Saya senang melakukan ini. Tidak jarang ketika saya “mengobok obok” isi lemari, saya menemukan sesuatu yang sangat bagus bila dipadankan dengan yang lain, yang saya juga lupa memiliki baju tersebut. Apalagi ketika lagi ngerasa bokek dan baju-baju kok kayaknya udah dipake dan bosen semuanya, mix and match adalah jurus yang paling jitu menyelesailkan masalah ini.

Saya selalu berfikir bahwa kreativitas ditentukan sejauh mana kita menginginkan hal-hal baru. Motivasi ini dilandasi sejauh mana kita menginginkan perbaikan dalam hidup.

Jangan pernah takut. Karena sesungguhnya hal ini justru akan menghambat jalan keluar. Setiap gagasan atau solusi mungkin akan mengandung resiko, tetapi jika ingin kreatif kita harus berani mengambil resikonya.

Kesuksesan dan kreativitas saling mendukung satu sama lain. Mereka yang paling kreatif itulah biasanya yang paling sukses. So, be creative, people!! 😉

Good Afternoon World!

Duuh sebenernya susah banget nih buat nulis ini. Kalo nggak karena tugas, saya emang orangnya susah nulis hehehe. Hari ini saya akan coba lebih kreatif dan mikirin arti nama Nila Veronica itu sendiri.

Saya percaya kalo nama yang baik akan memerikan pengaruh yang baik. Bahkan agama pun menganjurkan agar memberikan sebuah nama yang baik kepada seseorang. Waktu kecil saya pernah bertanya arti nama (Nila Veronica) sama Papa, dan jawaban nya adalah

” yaaa, apa ya.. kan papa namanya Edward Rais, terus mama Gina, jadi nila ya Nila Veronica” nyerah  . tapi ya emang begitu.. hahaha. jd kalo mau jelasin arti nama sendiri, agak2 ribet juga. Waktu ditanya ke Mama, katanya suruh nanya Papa.. hmmm…

Kemaren tante saya, yang dulu lama tinggal di Belanda dan katanya waktu kecil pinter banget, iseng iseng saya tanyain, apa arti nama saya. Dan jawabannya, “The meaning of the name Nila is Blue, The meaning of the name Veronica is Bringing Victory”.

Daaannn.. setelah lama dan lama dan lama banget akhirnya saya berpendapat, ini arti nama saya menurut saya. Dan paling tidak, ini adalah sebagian besar kepribadian saya..

N : negatifnya -> ada kecenderungan untuk terlalu menuntut dan menuntut diri sendiri

I : ingin selalu membantu apa yang mungkin bisa saya bantu

L : lebih suka dicintai daripada mencintai (hehe, kadang kadang kalo yang iniiii 😉 )

A : akan memberikan bantuan dan penghiburan kepada mereka yang membutuhkan saya

V : vada dasarnya, ehem maksudnya pada dasarnya saya ingin berada di padat, konvensional, dan kegiatan diatur

dengan baik, dan saya agak terganggu oleh perubahan mendadak.

E : ekspresi yang luar biasa dari rasa tanggung jawab, cinta dan keseimbangan

R : rasa khawatir yang berlebihan

O : ooo satu lagi, saya sangat menghargai kejujuran dan ketulusan

Hari ini mungkin hari yang paling kreatif dalam hidup saya karena bisa menulias arti huruf per huruf dari nama saya ( berlebihan seperti lagu T2, jangan lebaaayyy.. ). Hmmm… apapun arti nama saya insyaallah membawa pengaruh yang baik buat saya, hidup saya dan orang lain. Saya sangat bersyukur dan semoga kita semua selalu menjadi lebih baik ke depannya. Amiinnn..

Sekian dulu, bentar lagi pasti akan ada postingan baru karena saya mulai suka dengan pekerjaan menulis ini. Akhirnyaa.. Alhamdulillah… Have a nice day people!
